Down home country meatloaf
just right for Dad on his day.
Dad's favorite dish may not be the fanciest in the household culinary repertoire, because he's likely to prefer good downhome cooking with a potful of zesty flavor. A perennial hit with most men is a superb meatloaf redolent of onion, garlic, and celery with a tomato-y sauce on top. Its truly satisfying presented fresh from the oven with a garland of roasted vegetables, and even better, some say, served up in a cold sandwich the next day.
An
exceptional tasting Country Meat Loaf
cuts down on fat by calling for a combination of lean ground
beef and ground turkey. It has a pleasingly fine texture and
superb flavor which comes from mixing in barrel-aged
TABASCO brand Pepper Sauce,
thyme, ground cumin, plus a jar of original
TABASCO 7 Spice Chili Recipe,
a blend of vine-ripened tomatoes, sun-drenched peppers, onions,
herbs and spices. Nothing namby-pamby about this meat loaf
- Dad will love it!
Another
dish he'll relish is Mini
Meatballs with Pasta and Pesto. The meatballs also
combine turkey and beef, and once browned, are tossed just
before serving with cook bow-tie pasta, roasted red pepper
strips, and a pesto made with fresh basil leaves, apple, Parmesan
cheese, walnuts, garlic, TABASCO
brand Pepper Sauce, and only a quarter cup of olive
oil. The apple gives the dish a pleasing hint of sweetness,
a nice contrast to the piquancy of the pepper sauce.
So don't ask Dad to barbecue on Father's Day - let him relax and watch the ballgame or enjoy a leisurely game of golf. Then serve up one of his favorite dishes for a memorable family meal.
