De Nuestra Mesa
The selection of De Nuestra Mesa by the judges was unanimous; as one judge said, the book "supports the feeling and spirit of the South Florida community." Not only is the book filled with mouth-watering recipes, it is also generously sprinkled with stories and anecdotes from the Latino population of the region. De Nuestra Mesa includes recipes from all over the Spanish diaspora, celebrating Latino diversity. The book's simple but elegant design features a series of black & white photos and a classic ring binding to ensure that it will live in the kitchen (where it belongs), rather than on the coffee table.
Recipes include Ceviche de Camarones, Ensalada de Pollo con Frutas, Mahi-Mahi with Red Pepper and Bean Cassoulet, and Arroz con Pollo.

Yuletide on Hilton Head
Yuletide on Hilton Head is a cookbook in the classic tradition of "company" food - the kinds of dishes we normally only make when guests are expected. The genteel resort island of Hilton Head, SC, clearly knows something about guests and this book narrows the focus even further to dishes typical of the Christmas season. The book succeeds because the recipes and stories are so evocative of a distinct American place, with long-standing local customs and a rich culinary history. The margins of the book are also packed with entertaining stories, trivia and cooking advice.
Some selected recipes are Scalloped Bluffton Oysters, I Can't Believe It's Grits, Wonderfully Simple Roast Turkey, and Frogmore Stew.
